SCIENCE is Changing Our World |
 |
|
|
The pace of science is astonishing. The word
'Science' makes me think of innovative things around
me. The arising technology of science has brought
about a drastic change in human life. Reaching the
apex of life wouldn't have been possible if the
ladder of 'science' was never invented. Science and
technology has renewed our life teaching us the way
to live our life. Time and distance have been
overpowered by science.
Due to the expansion of industrialism and
technology, more and more aspects of the true
beginnings, characteristics and importance of the
universe were uncovered. Now is the world where
technology draws a line between what is achievable
and not for man, it is no longer a wonder as to how
your voice goes from Mumbai to London dancing
through the air. Many technologies are available in
the market today that brings improvement in almost
all aspects of development. The invention of the
transistor paved the way for more sophisticated
advances in technology that make the lives of modern
day man and woman a lot easier than before. Abstract
Nanotechnology may be considered as one of the
milestones in science and technology in the current
generation.
Science and technology is basically the study of how
social, political, and cultural values affect
scientific research and technological innovation,
and how these in turn affect society, politics, and
culture.
Science has an effect on our lifestyle, appearance,
character etc. We would have still been cave men's
playing with rocks and wearing leaves as clothes had
our ancestors wouldn't have matured and emerged as a
social being preferring to live in a well-developed
society rather than living in jungles.
Almost every element of our life has been improved
because of modern science and technology. If we live
in a comfortable home, wearing clothes, sleeping in
air-conditioned room, drinking cool water, washing
clothes within minutes, grinding spices and using a
personal computer we are reaping the benefits of
science and technology.
When one piece of hardware or software is created,
we can manipulate it for many more uses that our
mischievous minds can come up with. There have been
many occasions where "One thing led to another".
Improvising the world day after the other
manufacturing more and more complex things to
simplify our lives.
Making work faster, communication easier and
globalisation would have been alive as a dream
without science.
Microscopes give the knowledge of cells. Now we know
that the dots in the sky are stars and planets. Now
we are aware about the microscopic organisms and
their boon and bane. The knowledge of the different
forms of energies, their properties and importance.
The information about various elements existing in
nature. The mysteries about the creation of various
elements are no longer a mystery. The medicines we
intake is also a product of science and technology.
Looking around almost everything turns out to be an
outcome of science and technology.
Without the scientific theories and methods
developed mainly in the last few hundred years there
would be no electronic devices, spacecraft,
micro-surgery or weapons of mass destruction. The
products of science and technology have a huge
effect on the way we live our lives and how we shape
our environment. Imagine going through an average
day without using anything powered by electricity
and you'll understand how much you are dependent on
technology. Science along with human brain has now
shown us a way to reach the heavenly bodies and
study about them.
Almost everything from games to learning has gone
up-to a digital level. Learning becomes easier with
the help of new innovative technologies.
Considering all the changes brought about with the
help of science and technology we can say that
prevalence of science and technology in this
situation is a good change for we human beings. Its
change captured us and has also helped us a lot to
raise our standard of living.
Bio-cultivation, sixth sense technology, usage of
non-conventional sources to generate energy,
invention of robots (which does shopping, gardening,
cleaning and other household chores) genetic
engineering, bio-medical engineering (which have
proved to be a blessing for various people across
the globe) all contribute to the success story of
science and technology. Artificial organs which help
in reducing the mortality rate and also in spreading
happiness around.
The newspapers are filled with new inventions making
it all the more simpler and faster to perform
day-to-day work.
Science and technology may be partly responsible for
many of the problems that confront us today. The
problems are the advancement of weapons, bombs,
biochemical and nuclear weapon, which brought us
violence amongst ourselves and others. Another
problem is human dependences on technology, such as
the internet, computers, cell phones etc. Yet one of
the biggest problems is pollution. These are the ill
sides of advancement. But tagging science as a
disaster won't be justified as the culprit for this
isn't science but its users.
Science gives us a positive attitude towards life.
Even if we aren't the part of the solution it
remembers us that we are yet a part of the
precipitate.
We can see we have not only made achievements in the
creation of new technologies, and the understanding
of our earth and universe, but we in turn implement
these new technologies in our daily life. The
possibilities of inventions are endless; especially
if you're one of those that think WE are merely a
small experiment in the vast laboratory called the
Universe.
Technology will continue to grow every moment, every
day, every month and every year. Soon the technology
we have now will be considered antiques and no
longer be used anywhere. Some think that eventually
they will hit a point where they can't progress any
further. But as long as there is technology we will
continue to improve it.

"There
are only two constants:
the time we come and the time we go.
Everything in between is in our own hands.
WE ARE THE
WRITERS
OF OUR OWN DESTINY."
